Fresno State University - Creating Value with BPM

Recently I spoke with Mr. Gary Hensley, Programmer-Analyst/Applications Security, Technology Services at The California State University, Fresno, or Fresno State. Fresno State has 21,500 students and 1,100 full- and part-time staff. It is one of 23 campuses of the California State University, one of the largest university systems in the world with more than 427,000 students, 44,000 faculty and staff.

Fresno State is currently using BizFlow BPM for modeling, forms development, and ultimately process automation. Gary shared that processes automated and used daily include:

California State Water Resources Board - BPM for HRM

I had a great conversation with staff from the California State Water Resources Board about how they use business process management (BPM) to streamline areas of Human Resource Managment (HRM).

Social BPM - End User Empowerment

In July 2012, Gartner Research released its "Hype Cycle" for BPM. I am excited to see "Social BPM" on the rise. Social BPM refers to processes and applcations that are designed, created and/or deployed via collaboration and self initiative. It's the concept of design by doing.

Talent Development

Notwithstanding your methodology and product suite, your people are responsible for building and delivering solutions. That makes hiring and inspiring people your most important job.

In the context of BPM, people need to understand both the science and art of solution innovation. Process-driven applications are more than just workflow activities linked together by business rules. They include interfaces and forms that if designed well can provide highly intuitive user experiences generating rich data sets for reporting and analytics.

Los pilares de éxito para implementaciones BPM

Business Process Management (BPM) podría ser definido como:

BPM Defined with a Dash of Ingredients for Success

Business Process Management (BPM) can be defined as a:

• Methodology defining and supporting organizational change.
• Suite of tools enabling, instituting and optimizing change through process discovery, design, automation, and analytics.

A fierce storm with 80 mile wind gusts hit Northern Virginia on Friday night (June 29th) and took electricity away from many areas including the office park where HandySoft is located.

BizFlow support and download sites are currently down. Dominion Electric is working hard to restore power and we will keep you updated here with ongoing progress.

In the meantime, please use the following resource to get necessary assistance.

What is the Value of Collaboration Capture in BPM Solutions?

There has been much talk lately about the value of social media integration within BPM solutions. While jumping on the social bandwagon isn't necessarily a bad thing it does need to be accomplished with a sense of purpose and strategy. HandySoft has long been a champion of capturing the social interaction, collaboration if you will, amongst coworkers engaged in the process of business.

BPM and Big Data - What's the BIG deal?

Recently I was asked the question "How can BPM best utilize Big Data?" My reply was that I'd prefer to firstly speak about how BPM might be employed to improve the potential of a better answer to the original question.
