Henry J. (Jim) Schweiter is president and founder of Apex Strategies, a federal procurement and government relations consultancy that advises federal agencies and corporations on a range of national security, federal legislative and government contracts matters. Previously, he was the chief executive officer of the US Family Health Plan Alliance, a trade association of commercial health plans that, under contracts with the Department of Defense, provide health care to eligible beneficiaries. Mr. Schweiter was also a partner in the government contracts and government relations departments at McKenna Long and Aldridge, LLP, an Am Law 100 international law firm.
Mr. Schweiter served for 15 years in several senior staff positions on the Committee on Armed Services, US House of Representatives, including counsel, general counsel and minority staff director. Mr. Schweiter also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, general counsel of the congressionally-appointedCommission on the National Guard and Reserves, and spent six years on active duty as a judge advocate in the United States Air Force. He has a B.A. from Gettysburg College, a J.D. from the University of Toledo and completed the Program for Senior Executives in National and International Security at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
